The last week of October is upon us. The weather is behaving more like the end of November, but at least the farmers have been able to work in the fields.

The clocks fall back on Saturday night this weekend, November 2nd.  Enjoy that extra hour of sleep!

The fall sports are winding down at AHS.  The football team was defeated last Thursday in conference play.  They were defeated by RTR by a score of 30-7.  Their overall record was 4-5 for the season.  Even though the cross country team will not be going on to run at State, the team had a successful season with everyone making great strides to better their times each meet.  The volleyball team is still going forward in the playoffs.  Good luck to the girls and congratulations to all of the teams on a great season!

On Monday, November 11th, girl’s basketball, hockey and gymnastic season opens, with boys basketball beginning on Monday, November 18th.

Mark your calendars for the AHS fall play-Run for the Money will be presented in the Adrian Middle School gym at 7:00 p.m. both Friday (11/15) and Sat (11/16) for you enjoyment.  Come out and support these high school actors!

For the past month, the MN Zoo has hosted the Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular.  It was a fantastic 40 minute walk.  The pumpkins were unbelievable-no two faces were alike and there were over 5000 of them! Some of the artistic abilities displayed on some of the pumpkins made you speechless.  It was well worth the $20 ticket price.  It is a must see next year!

The Fall Festival was a huge success!  Lots of kids and parents attended the fun evening!  Trick or trunk was a big hit as the trick or treaters received extra Halloween goodies a week early.

Be sure to watch out for trick or treaters on Thursday night!

Our sympathy goes out to the Spidel and Marie Cox family after the tragic death of Bruce Spidel.

Let’s keep in our prayers all of our local people and families who need our continued prayers.  Add to your list all of those affected by the fires out west.  Only God can take care of all of the fires up and down the western coast of our country.

Thought for the week:  We regularly need new parts for our journey of following Jesus.  Our thoughts, our dreams and our desires need renewing on a regular basis.  Without Jesus’ renewal, we begin to break down.  We need His wisdom to show us where to go and how to live.

Have a great week!
