On Friday, October 13, 2017, everyone is invited to the north lawn of St. Adrian Catholic Church, at 12:00 noon, to pray the Rosary for our country and for world peace. This rally is called Fatima Rosary Rally. This year is the 100th anniversary of Mary’s appearance to the three children of Fatima, Portugal. If you don’t have a rosary, come anyway! Be sure to bring a lawn chair. Last year there was a nice crowd and this year’s organizers would like to see a bigger crowd yet. Our beautiful country is in need of lots of prayers! Thanks to Pat Henning for her commitment to this rally.

The fall dinner of ham and trimmings was enjoyed by many folks at Our Lady of Good Council Catholic Church in Wilmont last Sunday. Father Colletti said a 10:00 a.m. Mass and then a huge crowd attended the dinner beginning at 11:00 a.m. The pumpkin pie was delicious! Thanks Wilmont for a great meal!

Jim Taylor’s funeral is set for Saturday, October 14, at St. Mary Church is Ellsworth.
Mike Bullerman, age 59, of Adrian, died Saturday, September 30. Mike left behind his wife of forty years, Toni, and three children, Dallas (Heather), Brandi (Marty) Weiss, and Jill (Jeremy) VanEde and 7 grandchildren. Mike’s wake was held at St. Adrian Catholic Church on a rainy Monday night. Hundreds of people stood in line for hours to pay their respects to Mike and his family. Mike’s funeral was held on Tuesday, October 2, at St. Adrian, officiated by Msgr. Rick Colletti. Mike’s children gave a beautiful eulogy about their father and what he meant to them. The family, including Mike’s parents, Marlene and Landel “Boysie” Bullerman, donated Mike’s organs to others who needed them. As you drive by Mike and Toni’s place on Highway 91, slow down and say a prayer of thanks for the beautiful gift given by this family. Blessed be the memory of Mike Bullerman.
I have had the priviledge of writing several stories about people giving an organ to another. The first was a young woman who donated a kidney to a complete stranger, who became a great friend. Another was about two brothers who had to go to the Twin Cities, so one brother could give to the other. An adoptive daughter gave a kidney to her adoptive father, and a young man gave one of his kidneys to his grandmother, and a mother with four boys donated a kidney to her father, were others I wrote about. It is very humbling to see how people care about others, some who are even complete strangers.
Please consider being an organ donor. It can be marked on your drivers license, and be sure that your family is aware of your wishes.
