Adrian News 1-31-18

I found this piece of Scripture in 2nd Corinthians 13: 7-9.  “Now I pray to God that you do no evil, not that we should appear approved, but that you should do what is honorable.  Though we may seem disqualified.  For we can do nothing against the truth.  For we are glad when we are weak and you are strong.  And this also we pray, that we may be made complete.”

Congratulations to the Red Cross Bloodmobile for achieving their goal, and thank you to all who braved the weather to donate at this time of great need.  Chairpersons Al and Cindy Cox and the devoted workers were so pleased that they made their quota and more!

Dave Wiertzema and Larry Roemeling, both long time residents of our area,  passed away this past week.  Dave’s funeral was Tuesday, January 30, in Ellsworth and Larry’s was also Tuesday, in Adrian.  Our deepest sympathies to the Wietzema and Roemeling families.

St. Adrian’s parishoners have succeeded in raising the money needed for the new carpet, that will be installed in the near future.  It was good to see the fund rising each week.

Did anyone watch 20/20 last week?  It was a powerful story about Dr. Larry Narrar who will spend 175 years in prison.  There was a full page spread in the Sunday, January 28th issue of the Argus Leader, with the heading “Journalism Matters”.  Thank God for the twenty-two women who had the courage to come forward.
