Another week!  We spent the weekend in the Twin Cities.   Saturday was a beautiful day.  It was good to be outside.   We are lucky down here, the political ads are quite sparse as of yet.  Up there, they were plentiful!  I’d rather have it quiet.  Maybe that will change in the coming weeks.

Our COVID numbers in Nobles and Rock counties are on the rise-Rock more so than Nobles, but still!  Worthington has shut down school for two weeks.  Please remember your masks and keep up the social distancing.  With winter around the corner, I really don’t want to see us go back into complete stay at home.  The better we all behave, the less likely we will have to.  PLEASE think of others as well as looking out for yourself.  We will get through this, but we aren’t there yet!

Remember, if you are going to vote by mail-in ballot, get it returned early if possible.  I’ve been listening to the drama in Pennsylvania concerning the mail-in ballots.  Just be sure to get yours in on time to count!

Tony and Darla Parsley are again collecting coats, boots, mittens and hats from now through October.  If you have gently used coats of any size or winter clothing, please drop them off at 517 Maine Ave. Someone in need will appreciate a warm coat for the upcoming winter.

Haven’t the bugs been horrible?  You get eaten alive by no-seeums and the green bugs and baby bees are plentiful.  They usually won’t bother you, but I got a bee stuck under a sleeve and got stung.  It wasn’t too bad.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Henriksen family at the death of Wes’ brother Lenny.  He passed away on September 8 at the age of 72.  Blessed be the memory of Lenny Henriksen.

I moved some lilies last week.  Boy there was no moisture in the ground as far down as I dug.  If you haven’t thought about it, your perennials could use a good drink of water.  It will be a tough winter if we don’t get some rain.  Think about it and if you water, I think we are on the odd/even watering days.  Now is a good time to get your transplanting done.  We will run out of time very quickly!

Compassionate Friends Support Group continues to meet the third Monday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at the Luverne Area Community Foundation located at the Palace Theater in Luverne.  For more information contact Pat Saum at 507-960-2757 or email at pat.saum@gmail.com.  This is an awesomme group if you have lost a family member.

According to Caring Bridge, Mitchell Wagner spoke for the first time in months.  Thank you God for the wonders you are working.  Please continue to keep Mitchell and his family in your prayers.

Keep prayers coming for our children in school.  Pray for the teachers and PARAS too.  Remember those that are sick, lonely and have lost a loved one.  There is so much to pray about, but God has big shoulders!  Keep praying!

Thought for the Week:  Are you weak? Weary? Confused? Troubled? Pressured?  How is your relationship with God?  Is it held in its place of priority?  Are you a “squeezer” or a “pleaser”?  When you spend time with God everyday, it will change your life.  The greater the pressures in your life-the greater the need for time alone with Him.  Try it!

Have a good week!
