Adrian News 07-22-20

Do you ever have one of those days where you take one step forward and eight steps back?  Monday was like that for me.  It was like I was in a fog!  Is there such a thing as COVID-19 brain?  I’ll check it out and let you know.

There is a benefit in the works for Mitchell Wagner coming up in August.  Be sure to check out the details and get involved.

Continue to keep Mitchell and his family in your prayers.  He is improving slowly and the family is looking at rehabilitation centers to continue his progress.  Hugs and continued prayers for everyone involved.

Have you seen the Neowise comet?  I haven’t yet, but it is supposed to be at it’s best on Wednesday/Thursday of this week.  You need to find the big dipper and it’s off the bottom part of the big dipper.  Some have said the view is better if you use binoculars.  Check about 45 minutes to an hour after sunset.

The weather has been better after Saturday!  You know for all of the complaining about the heat, in only five months we will be entering winter!  Let’s enjoy summer!

Our deepest sympathy to the family of Robert Lindemann of Rushmore.  Robert passed away last Tuesday.  God Bless the memory of Robert Lindemann.

The annual Christmas in July Golf Tournament was held at the Adrian Country Club this past weekend.  Despite the heat a large number of golfers showed up.  It was a fun time and a great fundraiser for the Town and Country Assoc.  Let’s hope next year we can have the full weekend of events.

Mark your calendar for the American Red Cross Bloodmobile, which will be in Lismore on Tuesday, July 28th from 2:00-7:00 p.m. and in Adrian on Wednesday, July 29th from 1:00 – 7:00 p.m. Blood is desperately needed.  “When you donate blood, you help save lives. It’s one of the greatest gifts that you can give. It may only be a pint of blood for you, but for a patient in need it can mean the difference between life and death.”

With the new school year only weeks away, the question of the day is-will the kids start in person?  The California Kroons tell us that it looks like (although not 100% positive yet) they will not start on schedule.  California is scheduled to go back on August 10th, and it could be at least two months before they start.  Our
Governor is supposed to decide within the next week what happens here in Minnesota.  What a dilemma!  All of our leaders need prayers too!

Next Wednesday, July 29, will be the second meeting for interested business owners to learn more about funding opportunities and resources available.  RSVP to Jill Wolf at City Hall by Friday, July 24th  and get lunch.  Check out the ad in this week’s Nobles County Review.

Thought for the week:  God gives us so much.  Often we take it as if we deserve it.  In the presence of Jesus’ daily abundance, we easily feel entitled and forget how truly blessed we are.  We can choose to move away from an attitude of entitlement and embrace an attitude of gratitude.  Jesus has blessed our socks off!  Let’s live with open hearts full of thankfulness for every gift Jesus has sent our way!

Have a great week!
