Adrian News 06-12-19

It was a nice sunny week!  The farmers really kicked it in full gear and a lot of the fields were planted.  Finally!  The sun has been shining and the bugs have been horrible.  The City sprayed last Thursday for mosquitoes, so that should help, but let’s hope it takes out a few gnats too!

Scot Edwards placed 14th at the State Track and Field Meet with a distance of 46-09.75.  Congrats Scot!

Our deepest sympathy to the family of Alice Hokeness.  Alice was just a few days short of 103 when she passed away.  God bless the memory of Alice!

Our deepest sympathies to the family of Griffin Engelkes.  All our prayers to the family and to the Klaassen family.  May God’s healing peace fall on all of you.

The Ecumenical work day is scheduled for July 19th.  If you would like to help, be sure to contact Michele Wieneke (227-6456), Deb Kroon (360-7671), Julie Winselman (360-3128) or David Kruse (381-3683).  Thanks alot!

The cottonwood trees sure have released a ton of cotton this year.  Some pictures were taken near the high school that looked like piles of snow.  Too bad it’s not good for something useful!

The summer sports have begun, so keep your eyes open for kids on bikes and running into the street, especially in the lower park area.

Please remember to keep those who need extra prayers in your thoughts.  Sandy Suedkamp continues to be away from home.  Irene Reinke broke her hip and is recovering from surgery, and hopefully will be coming home in the near future.  Sharon Boltjes and Tucker Marten need your continued prayers.  I’m sure there are lots of others who need our prayers.

Happy 80th Birthday to Clarence Bauer who celebrated this past weekend.

Thought for the week: There are times when the circumstances of life leave us feeling alone and forgotten.  There are moments when we feel that we are the last thing 0n God’s mind.  But He is near.  He is meeting every need and wiping every tear, reminding us that He loves us.  We will never be forgotten!

Have a good week!
