Spring is here! The crocus are blooming and the daffodils are beginning to bud out. You can hear mowers picking up the winter leftovers. People are busy in their yards. We made it through a long, cold winter.
May will be a busy month for District 511. With all the spring sports playing catch-up, field trips, the Annual Spring Show at Adrian HS/MS and graduation, the month will fly by. There is so much on the schedule, check out the entire schedule on the Adrian District 511 web page.
The second graders at AES will have swimming lessons in Luverne on Tuesday, May 2 through Thursday, May 10.
AHS Prom was held this past weekend, along with Ellsworth, Worthington and Luverne. There were a lot of great pictures posted on Facebook and in this week’s paper. What beautiful dresses on the young women and the guys always clean up so nicely!
Also this past Sunday, the elementary Father/Daughter Dance was held in the high school gym. There were great pictures of the beautifully decked out little girls and their proud papas.
Adrian Country Club opened up last Wednesday. There have been many die hard golfers out already. Watch for the beginnings of leagues.
The Sons of the American Legion will hold a pancake breakfast at the legion hall on Sunday, May 6th, to raise funds for the Adrian Legion baseball team.
The Adrian Middle School band and choir are going to Chanhassen on Wednesday, May 2.
On Friday, May 4, the fifth graders will go to the middle school for a transition day.
Grieve with Great Hope is a program offered each Monday in May at St. Adrian’s Ed Building – 7:00 p.m, beginning on May 9th. Call Leslie Slater 483-2317, ext 226 if you are interested in attending.
Luverne is holding their Spring Rummage Sales beginning Thursday, May 3 and running through May 5.
Cinco de Mayo is Saturday. Do you have your celebration planned?
