Adrian Library Update…

Funds raised thus far: $70,785

Goal:  $80,000

THE LIBRARY HAS BEEN GUTTED!  That’s right – last week, Clair Van Grouw and his construction crew took out the interior cinderblock walls, as well as the wallboard, the ceiling, the lights, etc.  The Adrian Branch Library building is down to the bare walls, and ready for the asbestos floor tiles to be removed this week.

The work has begun and we couldn’t be more pleased!

We are now in the process of reviewing shelving options (one of the biggest things we need to decide at this point) and so that will be a few weeks of processing before we can order the shelving units.  As we anticipated, those will have to be custom fit, so that will take more time than we envisioned.  (As in, we might be well into summer before we can reopen at the regular library building.)

In the meantime, we are running the Library out of the New Vision Coop Building, located at the corner of Maine Avenue/Hwy 91 and 1st Street in Adrian, MN.  Our phone number is:  507-295-5348.

We are still in the midst of the Winter Reading Program for Adults (beginning with Teens ages 16 years and older).  Please stop in today and check out some books!

We are still trying to reach our $80,000 goal.

Please consider making a donation today.  It is greatly appreciated!
