Westbrook-Walnut Grove traveled to Adrian High School on Friday, Dec. 13th, to take on the Adrian Boys’ Basketball team. This is the first Red Rock Conference game of the 2019-2020 season. The crowd got their money’s worth! The Dragons won in thrilling fashion 92-89 in two overtimes.
The Dragons had a chance to win in regulation with Grant Jansma’s three point attempt rimmed out as time expired. The Dragons were led by Peyton Lewis’ 25-points and 9 rebounds off the Dragon bench. Ian Stamer had 22 points and 5 assists for the Dragons. Grant Jansma had 15 points, making 5 three-point field goals. Lance Luettel had 14 points and 6 rebounds. The Dragons shot 55% from the field 34 of 64, while making 8 of 17 three-point shot attempts. The Dragons won the rebounding battle 33-28.
Westbrook-Walnut Grove had the leading scorer in the game, Ethan Mischke. Mischke tallied 45 points for the Chargers.
The A-E Dragons are 1-0 in conference play and improved to 1-1 on the season.
