You may have heard people talking about finding Pokémon, or the activity itself, Pokémon Go. Pokémon Go is a free, location-based virtual game that involves a phone, GPS tracking, and a camera. In a very brief summary, players create an avatar (a virtual cartoon character of themselves) and the avatar finds and captures a Pokémon character. The player is in the real world, and finds and captures a Pokémon character in the “real world.” It is sort of like a scavenger hunt, with the object being to capture all the Pokémon characters. A Pokémon character is captured when a player’s avatar throws a Poké ball at it.
It might sound complicated, or just plain weird, but for people who like Pokémon or scavenger hunts, or virtual yet real-live games – this is a great activity.
