Jennifer Rahe and her sons, Nathan, Andy, Joe, and Jack surprised the Nobles County Sheriff’s Office with appreciation kits to show their support of Law Enforcement.  The bags contained lots of little treats with explanations….such as “Lifesavers for all the lives you’ve saved” and “Gum to help your unit to stick together”, etc.  What a great show of support and citizenship!

Joyce Erdman and her son Mike have returned from a trip to Alaska.  Joyce and her late husband Earl had planned to visit Alaska “some time”…so Mike stepped in for his dad and gave his mom the trip of a lifetime!  They flew to Anchorage, rented a car, and the adventure began!  From “up north” in Fairbanks to “down south” in Homer, Joyce and Mike saw beautiful scenery, mountains, glaciers, and wild animals.  They met other visitors from all over the world.  The salmon were spawning and people were fishing for salmon and halibut. There were many large fishing boats. Joyce and Mike saw some nice fish and also ate some!!  They visited Joyce’s niece, Adele and Mike Gallagerin who live in Anchorage.  Adele is the daughter of Jim and Jane McCann of Colorado Springs, CO.  It was a wonderful trip; one Joyce and Mike will always remember.

The Lismore American Legion Family has donated dozens of baseballs in the past 5 years to various American Legion teams. This year’s recipients were teams in Ashburn, VA and Carson, CA.  Baseball was a big tradition in the Clair Springman family with the boys following in their father’s footsteps.  Mike Springman, a SAL member who participated in Lismore Legion ball, delivered baseballs to Ashburn, VA. Brother Joe Springman, who lives in Manassas, VA was also a Lismore Legion ball player. Another brother, Bill, delivered baseballs to Carson, CA. What a great contribution to America’s favorite pastime!
