Board Chair Wolf called the special meeting of the Adrian Board of Education to order at 5:00 P.M. on February 28, 2020. Members present: Kruger, Kunkel, Madison, Wieneke and Wolf. Also present was Principal Koehne, Dean of Students Schettler, and Sandy Gundlach, MSBA Representative.
Board Members Bullerman and Lenz were absent.
Motion by Wieneke, seconded by Kunkel to add an Addendum to the Superintendent’s contract adding a severance package upon resignation, motion carried.
Motion by Kunkel, seconded by Kruger to accept Mr. Roger Graff’s letter of resignation due to retirement effective June 30, 2020, motion carried.
Board member Bullerman arrived at 5:01 PM and Lenz arrived at 5:06 PM.
Board discussed the position and agreed that it is desired to have a full time position with the possibility of contracting a portion of the position to another District. Sandy Gundlach, MSBA Representative stated she would send a job description for the superintendent.
Sandy Gundlach reviewed and explained the search related information.
Sandy Gundlach explained the hiring packages available. Motion by Bullerman, seconded by Madison to select the Basic Plus package at $6,000, motion carried.
Reviewed the hiring timeline and the hiring criteria. The superintendent position will be posted on Monday March 2, 2020 and close on Tuesday April 14, 2020.
Discussed the Superintendent vacancy announcement.
Motion by Kruger, seconded by Kunkel to approve the hiring timeline including the special meeting dates, motion carried. The first Special Meeting date will be Monday March 9 at 6:15.
Motion by Wieneke, seconded by Lenz to grant Wolf, Board Chair the authority to approve the Superintendent Vacancy Announcement, motion carried.
Motion by Bullerman, seconded by Kruger to adjourn the Special February 28, 2020 meeting of the Adrian Board of Education at 7:17 P.M., motion carried.
