Arlene Marie Knips, age 85, of Lakeville, MN (previously Lismore, MN) died Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at The Fountains at Hosanna, Lakeville, MN.
She was born December 28, 1934 on the family farm near Kenneth, Minnesota to Nicholas (“Nick”) and Frances (Wilberding) Wittry. Arlene attended country school and then graduated from St. Anthony High School in Lismore in 1952. She attended Northwestern Technical College (Lab Technician) and worked in Sioux City, IA.
Arlene was united in marriage to Earl William Knips on May 26, 1955. They farmed in the Lismore area until Earl passed in 1992.
Her passions were many including softball, golf, flowers, and watching the MN Twins. She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church.
Arlene is survived by her four children, Kristi Reker, Lakeville, MN, and her children Kayse (Ted) and Mitchell; Kay (Mark) Herzog, Minnetonka, MN, and their children Jason and Derek; Ron (Erika) Knips, Lakeville, MN, and their children Rylee and Brody; and Rick (Kerri) Knips, Lismore, MN and their children Sydney and Cole; two siblings Doris (Don) Brake of Wilmont, MN and Judy (Jim) Bauer of Lincoln, NE. She was preceded in death by her husband and two brothers, Edwin Wittry and Robert Wittry.
Private services will be held at a later date.
