The Public meeting for World’s Best Workforce presentation was held at 5:30 PM on Monday, December 16, 2019 in the Adrian High School Media Center.  Principal Cate Koehne and Dean of Student’s Randy Schettler presented information by reviewing and explaining the Districts goals and test scores from the 2018-2109 school year.

The Public meeting for the Truth in Taxation hearing was held at 6:00 PM on Monday, December 16, 2019 in the Adrian High School conference Room.  Board Vice Chair Chris Wolf presented information by reviewing and explaining where the Districts levy funds are allocated and that the levy funds will increase by 44.28 percent due to voter approved referendum and state statutes and mandates.

Board Vice Chair Chris Wolf called the regular meeting of the Adrian Board of Education to order at 6:05 P.M. on December 16, 2019.  Members present: Bullerman, Kruger, Kunkel, Madison, Wieneke and Wolf.  Also present were Principal Koehne, Dean of Students Schettler, staff member J Henning and David Freidrichsen with Muelebroeck, Taubert & Co, PLLP.

Board Member Lenz and Superintendent Graff were absent.

Motion by Madison, seconded by Kunkel to approve the agenda, motion carried.

David Freidrichsen with Muelebroeck, Taubert & Co, PLLP presented and reviewed the June 30, 2019 year-end audit.  Motion by Wieneke, seconded by Kunkel to accept the audit, motion carried.

Mrs. Koehne presented the Nobles County Integration Collaborative World’s Best Work Force report.  Motion by Kruger, seconded by Madison to accept the report, motion carried.

Mrs. Koehne presented the building and grounds report.

Motion by Kruger, seconded by Kunkel to approve the minutes from the November 18, 2019 meeting, motion carried.

Motion by Wieneke, seconded by Kunkel to approve the claims and accounts for November 2019, motion carried.

The November 30, 2019 reports were reviewed.  Motion by Kruger, seconded by Madison to approve the account balances for November 30, 2019, motion carried.

Mrs. Koehne and Mr. Schettler presented the Elementary Dean of Student’s Report, MS/HS Principal’s report and Activities Director’s report

L. Lonneman is requesting two unpaid personal leave days. Motion by Kunkel seconded by Madison to approve request, motion carried.

Discussed establishing a policy for the disposal of Special Education student files.

Presented a request to have L Nelson as a volunteer wrestling coach pending background check.  Motion by Kunkel, seconded by Madison to approve request, motion carried.

Presented information for Wrestling Referee pay for Triangular and Quadrangular meets from the Southern Minnesota Wrestling Officials Association.  Motion by Bullerman, seconded by Wieneke to approve their rates, motion carried.

Reviewed participation numbers for the winter sports including participants from Ellsworth.

Reviewed the Superintendent’s report:

Reviewed the Worthington Area Learning Center Cooperative Agreement.  Motion by Kunkel, seconded by Kruger to approve agreement, motion carried.

Presented the Resolution Accepting Donations with a donation from John & Cindy Heitkamp in the amount of $50 for the Food for Thought Program.  Motion by Bullerman, seconded by Wieneke to accept donation, motion carried.

Reviewed the Truth in Taxation Levy Certification indicating an increase of $356, 996.60 or a 44.28 percent increase in levy funds due to voter approved referendum and state statutes and mandates.  Motion by Wieneke, seconded by Kunkel to approve the Final Levy Limitation and Certification at $1,166,556.40, motion carried

Motion by Kunkel, seconded by Madison to table the Local 578 Union agreement until January provided there was no information on the agreement,  motion carried.

Reviewed the District’s World’s Best Workforce Report.  Motion by Bullerman, seconded by Kunkel to approve the report, motion carried.

Motion by Bullerman, seconded by Madison to adjourn the December meeting of the Adrian Board of Education at 6:37 P.M., motion carried.
