Logan Rogers pitches a shut out for Adrian
The Adrian Dragons took on the number 3 seeded Ely Timberwolves in the 1st round of the State Class A Baseball Tourney last Thursday in Chaska, Minnesota. Adrian played the late game starting at 5:30 p.m.
The Timberwolves sported a record of 20 wins and 5 losses while the Dragons had a record of 19 wins and 7 losses. Patrick Huisman started for Ely and Logan Rogers started for Adrian. Huisman has been a starter for Ely since the 8th grade and Rogers, the same for Adrian.
The large crowd expected a pitchers dual and that is exactly what they got. Logan Rogers pitched 7 complete innings allowing no runs on 2 hits and struck out 8 hitters enroute to his 1st state tourney win. Patrick Huisman pitched 7 complete, allowing just one run on 3 hits and struck out 4. Huisman allowed one walk in the game while Rogers didn’t walk a batter.
