Lismore lady golfers were successful in the Adrian Club tournament this past weekend. Alexia Kemper came out on top as the club champion. Katie Wieneke placed second and Jada Elias of Adrian grabbed third place. Everyone enjoyed a fun day.
Molly Einck continues to make progress this past week. She was able to have her chest tubes removed, some medications cut back, and hopefully will be off the ventilator very soon. Slow and steady, Molly…we will keep praying for your miracle heart! Molly was able to have her big sister, Mari at her side this weekend. Family time is so important! “Team Phoebe” participated in the annual Eastern South Dakota Heart Walk on Saturday, August 17th at Fawick Park in Sioux Falls. Phoebe Vargas was born with a congenital heart defect in November 2009. She endured three open-heart surgeries, the first one when she was just 7 days old! She had another surgery at four months and the third when she was 18 months old. Phoebe’s mom, the former Jean Lorang (daughter of Ruth and the late Marv Lorang) says their daughter Phoebe, has taught her family to count their blessings and live each moment to the fullest. Today Phoebe is nine years old and ready to start 4th grade at Dell Rapids St. Mary School.
Congratulations to Tony Lynn and Lexi Rust who were married on Saturday, August 17th at the American Reformed Church in Luverne. Tony is the son of Brad and Brenda Lynn of Lismore and Lexi is the daughter of Mike and Candace Rust of rural Magnolia. The newlyweds will make their home in rural Magnolia. Tony is engaged in the family farm operation and Lexi is a teacher at Adrian Elementary School.
Deb Lutmer spent a few days in the home of her sister, Carol Giroux and Darrel Johnson, in Wheaton. They also visited their family friend, Joyce Randall, at the Browns Valley Health Care Center.

The family of the late Buck and Rita Krogman gathered at the lake home of Bill and Sheila Krogman on Nest Lake near Spicer for the weekend. Those attending were: Bob and Shorty Krogman of White Bear Lake, Dean Krogman of Brookings, SD; Fr. David Krogman of Brandon, SD; Ken Krogman of Des Moines, IA; Bruce and Ruth Lutmer of rural Leota/Brooklyn Park; Mary Hoffman of Sioux City, IA; Lisa Krogman of Seattle, WA.
Lawson Weidert, son of Nick and Brittany of Hartford, SD was dedicated at the Living Rock Church in Luverne on August 4th. Present to witness their promise to raise him in a Godly way were: his brothers Karson and Grayson; grandparents Jeff and Jan Weidert, Uncle Justin Weidert and great-grandparents Jerome and Mary Weidert, all of Lismore; Nick’s godmother Jean Loosbrock and her daughter, Jenna of Champlin.
The Twins continue to lead their division in American League. Wouldn’t it be great if they were in World Series again. With the Twins winding down season the Vikings are starting up.. Hope they can
have a good season and end at the top also. Gopher fans are preparing for a good year also.
