Well it’s finally the week of Adrian’s celebration. Are you ready for the fun? There is a completely full lineup for Friday night, beginning with Rims and Ribs at 5:30 p.m. and ending with County Line Drive playing until 12:30 a.m. Saturday starts at 7:00 a.m. with the Fox Mound Run and continues up to 12:00 a.m. with the music of Undercover. With the Legion celebrating 100 years, Carl’s Farm Store celebrating 60 years and the library holding an open house, there is definitely something for everyone to do on Saturday. Don’t forget the food stand for your Saturday dining!
Our deepest sympathies to the family of Kay Cox. Kay was a big part of our community and cannot be replaced. Her loss will be felt for years to come. God bless the memory of Kay Cox.
Our deepest sympathy also to the family of Mick VonHoltum. She was a sweet lady, always with a smile on her face. Blessed be the memory of Mick VonHoltum.
The area also lost two more people this past week. Our deepest sympathies to the families of Wilmanette Spykerboer and Archie Bonnett, Jr.
The Senior Dining center moves to it’s new home this week. Be sure to stop and check it out during the celebration. It will be open for the public to view. Also, if you’ve never come for a meal, now would be a good time to consider doing so.
On Thursday, July 25th, the Nobles County Review will be sponsoring the $2 meal in honor of Kay Cox, who was a huge supporter, at the Senior Dining Center in their new site. Please call in by Wednesday, and let’s make this a big turn out. Pork Chops are on the menu.
Please continue to keep area people in your prayers. They are needed.
As people come and go on their summer family vacations, stay safe, and enjoy family time. School is looming in the near future!
Last week at the golf course, the women got together to celebrate Molly Einck and let her mom, Melissa know how much she is loved and supported by all of the women. It was a great night with lots of laughs and tears. The women raised over $1000 to give to the Einck family. The fund raiser held in Wilmont on Sunday was also very well attended. People came out in droves to show their support. Small town people cannot be beat!
The Ecumenical work day is set for this week. There are more jobs than can be done in one day, so we will be working hard. If you’re interested in coming out, meet at St. Adrian’s Ed building at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, even if it’s only for a few hours. Lots of help is needed.
Congratulations to Connie and Bob Kunkel for becoming great-grandparents! It is so much fun watching the generations grow! Congratulations to Kennedy and Logan on the birth of their daughter!
Our hot weather is supposed to continue throughout this week for sure. Drink lots of water and take frequent breaks if you are working outside. The shade of a tree offers great relief. Be smart!
Thought for the week: Sometimes we like to think we are better than “those people,” but we are sinners too. That’s the bad news. The good news is that Jesus died for sinners, for “those people”, for us, for you!
Have a great week and remember to hydrate and stay cool!
