Highway 91 construction starts June 17 with detour

Construction open house set for June 10 in Adrian

MANKATO, Minn. – Motorists are advised that construction is set to begin on Highway 91 from Adrian to Russell beginning June 17 with detours for rural segments.

An open house has been set for Monday, June 10 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Argonne American Legion Post #32, 109 Maine Avenue, Adrian. The public is encouraged to attend to learn about the project and the related traffic impacts.  MnDOT staff and the contractor will be present to answer questions.

Construction was originally scheduled for 2019 and 2020; however, the contractor has proposed completing the majority of the work in 2019.  The work includes bridge replacements and rural box culvert construction that will result in detouring Highway 91. Resurfacing will be completed as well as sidewalk and driveway improvements in Adrian and Lake Wilson and additional lighting at rural intersections.

This 45 mile-long construction job completes Highway 91 projects planned in both MnDOT District 7 – Mankato (Nobles County) and MnDOT District 8 – Willmar (Murray and Lyon County) and is expected to be complete in October.
