Track and Field: Dragons compete at chilly Cardinal Relays

The Adrian Track and Field team traveled to Luverne on April 9th for the Cardinal Relays. Clouds and light rain were the theme of the day, but many Dragons did not let that dampen their performances. Junior Scot Edwards was the high performer once again for the Dragons, winning the shot put with a throw of 43 feet, 8 inches. Edwards also placed 5th in the discus.

On the girl’s side, Kendra Frodermann had the best finish in the high jump. Frodermann placed 3rd with a leap of 4 feet, 6 inches. Three different Dragons had three, 4th place performances. Sammy Wieneke was fourth in the discus with a personal best throw of 87 feet, 4 inches. Frodermann also placed fourth in the 200 meter dash with a time of 29.7 and Moriah Bullerman finished strong in the 800 to place 4th in 2:37. Bullerman also placed 7th in a competitive 1600 run, pacing the distance in 6:10. The 4×200 meter relay and 4×400 meter relay also placed 4th overall. The members of the 4×200 relay were Brianna Reckamp, Hali Bullerman, Bailey Lonneman, and Frodermann. The 4×400 had a strong final leg by Hali Bullerman to place 4th. The team was made up of Moriah Bullerman, Lonneman, Reckamp and H. Bullerman. Also having personal best performances were Laura Roelfs in the 100 hurdles with a time of 22.5 and Grace Farinella in the 1600 meter run in 7:01.

Christian Weidert was the next highest performer behind Edwards. Weidert placed 7th in high jump with a jump of 5 feet even. Senior Dakota John had two solid jumping performances as well. John had a personal best long jump, going 16 feet, 10 inches, placing 9th and a 10th place finish in the triple jump, skipping to 35 feet, 6 and a half inches. Senior Tahj Schroeder had a personal best jump in the long jump as well, going 16 feet even. Seventh grader Jordan Erwin had a personal best 100 meter sprint, running 15.5.

The Dragons will travel to Pipestone on April 23rd to make up a meet from Saturday, April 13th.
