Five Weidert basketball players took the floor on Thursday evening as part of Adrian High School March Madness.  Former girls basketball players Nina (Weidert) Rogers and Olivia Weidert challenged the high school varsity team.  The next game featured the boys varsity team against basketball alumni.  Christian Weidert competed against his uncles, Nick and Justin.  It was a fun night for everyone. Other Lismore alumni players featured Katie Wieneke, Shelley Loosbrock, and Mitchell Veld.  It doesn’t seem that long ago that all of these “kids” were in high school!

Bruce and Brenda Loosbrock and their daughter, Shelley, spent a long weekend in the Kansas City, KS area. They went especially to meet their new granddaughter, Lucia, the daughter of Stephen and Bethany.  Lucia’s big brother, Dominic, also received plenty of attention from his grandparents and Auntie.

The community offers sympathy to the family of Annabelle Diekmann. Annabelle passed away on Monday, March 18th at the age of 93 following a major stroke.  She and her husband Robert lived in Revere where she was active in the community and had a heart for spreading joy.  She is survived by her children, Marlene and Calvin. She was preceded in death by her husband and children Kenny and Laurie.  Blessed be her memory.

The Easter Bunny is coming to Lismore on Saturday, April 20th at the Lismore Park and Lismore Fire Hall. Weather permitting there will be an Easter Egg Hunt in the city park at 10:00 am.  At 10:30, the Easter Bunny will make his way to the Fire Hall where he will hand out some candy and you can have your picture taken with him. This is just one of the many events the Lismore Booster Club sponsors throughout the year.

Tom and Lisa Diekmann recently returned from 10 days in Florida visiting Tom’s two brothers, Lee and Dale  While there they attended the Arnold Palmer Invitational Golf Tourney in Orlando, FL.  Other activities included; golf, sight seeing in the Florida Keys, visiting with family and just taking in the beautiful warm weather.

The Adrian Parish Cluster of 11th grade confirmation classes have performed the Shadow Drama of the crucifixion of Christ for many years. If you have never attended, you really should!  It is truly inspirational and a perfect Lenten activity for you and your family.  In addition to the Shadow Dramas, the Knights of Columbus from the three parishes will serve a meal prior to the performance. Check it out on Wednesday, April 3rd at St. Anthony’s church.  People of all faiths are welcome!

The Blue Mound Figure Skaters presented their 28th Annual Ice Show titled, “Minnesota ON’ice”.  One of the performers was Kamryn Darling, daughter of Sarah and Lucas of Brandon, SD.  Family who attended to  support the little lady (besides her parents and brother, Carter) were: Grandparents Alan and Ellen Henning,  Great Grandparents Veryl and Avis Stoffel, and Uncle Joe and Aunt Ashley Henning and cousin Alivia.

Those who attended Mass at St. Adrian on Sunday witnessed a very powerful and moving experience for the Mike and Melissa Einck family of rural St. Kilian/Wilmont area. Fr. Rick Colletti called them to the center of the church to anoint  Molly, who soon will be having another surgery in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The entire congregation prayed for this sweet, brave two-year old who continues to amaze us all with her spirit and determination. The Einck’s are so grateful for the love and support they continue to receive throughout Molly’s journey. May God bless this family!
