Lady Dragons dominate court

The Lady Dragons hosted Westbrook-Walnut Grove on January 31st.  The Dragons ran the court using clean aggressive basketball to defeat the Chargers 65-31.  The Dragon stats told the tale of dominance with Adrian out-rebounding the Chargers 41 to 30 and 15 steals to the 5 of the Chargers.  The Chargers had four of their players in foul trouble by the end of the contest sending the Dragons to the charity stripe 27 times, the Dragons made 17.

Leading the Dragons offensively was Avery Balster with 12 points with 2 three point shots made, Balster also dished out 5 assists in the contest.  Jayden Zebe had 11 points in the contest with 1 three point shot made, Kristina Cauwels had 10 points, Moriah Bullerman had 9 points and 2 assists, Shawna Rogers had 8 points with 1 three point shot made and 1 assist, McKinley Nelson had 4 points and 2 asists, Austumn Grussing had 4 points and 2 assists, Jennifer Preuss had 4 points, Brisa Zebe chipped in 3 points and 3 assists, Megan Fuerstenberg had 2 assists and Marisa Lehnhoff had 1 assist.

Defensively the Dragons were led by Shawna Rogers with 5 rebounds (3 offensive), McKinley Nelson with 5 (1 offensive) and Kristina Cauwels with 5 (1 offensive).  Avery Balster added 4 (1 defensive and 3 offensive), Marisa Lehnhoff  and Brisa Zebe each also pulled down 4.  Moriah Bullerman and Jennifer Preuss  had 2 offensive rebounds, and Jayden Zebe 1.

The Lady Dragons begin to wrap up regular season play before heading into Sections.  They will make the short trip to Ellsworth to take on the Lady Panthers February 7th and then travel to Lamberton to take on Red Rock Central on February 15.
