The Dragons got off to a great start to the 2018 season sweeping Hills Beaver Creek and Martin County West in their two opening games.
The Dragons have a large returning Senior class of Avery Balster, Sabdi Bravo, Autumn Grussing Hanna Kruse, Miah Kunkel and Jamie Ross to be leaders on the floor. The group look to improve on last years record of 16-11.
In the Lady Dragons opening match against Hills Beaver Creek on August 29th the Dragons started off strong all around with tough serving and a powerful offense. The Dragons won in three; 25-16, 25-22, 25-21. Leading the offense was Kasie Tweet with 28 set assists, Miah Kunkel with 17 kills and Bailey Lonneman with 12 kills. Mayssa Tweet offered up 8 set assists and 3 ace serves. Defensively Avery Balster led with 7 digs.
The Dragons stayed home to take on Martin County West on August 30th. The Dragons gave the home crowd a lot to cheer about with a 25-9, 25-13 and 25-21 win over MCW.
Leading the Dragons in set assists was Kasie Tweet with 19. At the net Miah Kunkel had 10 kills and Bailey Lonneman 7, Avery Balster put up 3 blocks. Shawna Rogers led the Dragons with 4 ace serves and defensively Mayssa Tweet had 7 digs and Kasie scooped up 6.
The Dragons will be at home on Thursday to take on Westbrook/Walnut Grove.
