The Lismore Fire and Rescue had another great turnout for their annual fundraiser on Saturday evening. One couldn’t go wrong with “all-you-can-eat” BBQ pork or turkey! The soft-serve ice cream was a hit with the young and old. If you were lucky enough to win a prize at the event, that was an extra bonus! Cliff Altman introduced Tyann Prins and Ashley Harberts as the newest member of the department. Thank you to all Fire & Rescue personnel for your service! You are appreciated.
Joyce Erdman and Veryl and Avis Stoffel, Co-Chairmen of the Red Cross Bloodmobile extend their thanks to everyone who gave blood last Tuesday and to all who “tried” to donate. They are a happy to report 37 units collected. Unfortunately, the donor line was long and a lack of sufficient Red Cross workers caused several donors to leave without a chance to donate. They hope that next time the Red Cross will be better prepared for Lismore.
