Adrian School Regular Board Meeting
June 18, 2018
Board chair Lenz called the regular meeting of the Adrian Board of Education to order at 6:00 P.M. on June 18, 2018. All members present, along with Superintendent Graff and staff member C. Hornstein
Motion by Wolf, seconded by Kunkel to amend and approve the agenda by adding to the Superintendent’s Report item K. Print Services Contract, item L. Auditors Agreement and item M. Membership Renewals, motion carried.
Roger Graff presented the building and grounds report.
• Gave an update on the summer cleaning.
• Presented a request to hire part time help in the amount of 24 hours for the summer. Motion by Madison, seconded by Kruger to accept request, motion carried.
Motion by Kruger, seconded by Kunkel to approve the minutes from the May 21, 2018, motion carried.
Motion by Madison, seconded by Wolf to approve the claims and accounts for May 2018, motion carried.
Superintendent Graff presented the May reports. Motion by Kunkel, seconded by Madison to approve the account balances, motion carried.
Mr. Graff presented the Principals’ report.
• Presented a coaching request to hire B. Jackson as head volleyball coach, and J. Hermeling as assistant volleyball coach. Motion by Wolf, seconded by Kunkel to accept coaching as-signments, motion carried.
• Presented a request to hire K. Klosterman as the High School Special Ed Instructor. Motion by Kruger, seconded by Kunkel to accept request, motion carried.
• Presented a staff resignation from D. Lenz, Elementary para-professional, motion by Sieve, seconded by Bullerman to accept resignation, motion carried.
• Presented a request to advertise for para-professional. Item tabled until July.
• Gave an update on the Elementary Office Staffing option.
•Presented a staff resignation for Fall Play Advisor from J. McCarthy. Motion by Kunkel, seconded by Madison to accept resignation, motion carried.
• Presented a request to hire T. Johnson as the Fall Play Advisor, motion by Kruger, seconded by Wolf to accept request, motion carried.
• Reviewed recommended student handbook revisions.
• Board discussed Prom date.
Mr. Graff presented his Superintendent’s report:
• Presented the proposed 2018-19 Budget, motion by Wolf, seconded by Sieve to approve the proposed budget, motion carried.
• Presented the At Will Terms of Employment for T. Bertrand, R. Bullerman and D. Luethje for the 2018-2019 school year. Motion by Kruger, seconded by Kunkel to approve request, motion carried.
• Presented the property/casualty insurance renewal information. Motion by Bullerman, seconded by Sieve to renew without coverage for Crisis Management Coverage, motion carried.
• Presented information that the District must adopt a plan to test drinking water for lead. Motion by Wolf, seconded by Kruger to approve and accept the ISD 511 Water/Lead Testing Plan, motion carried.
• Discussed the food service policy and the collection of over due lunch accounts.
• Presented an agreement with the Southwest West Central Service Cooperative for an ADA Website Compliance agreement. Motion by Madison, seconded by Bullerman to approve agreement, motion carried.
• Gave an update on the School Based Mental Heath Services the District receives.
• Presented the agreement with Johnson Controls, Inc. for HVAC maintenance for July 1, 2018 to June 30, 2019. Motion by Wolf, seconded by Kunkel to accept agreement, motion carried.
• Presented a Print Services Agreement with Elite Business Systems and A& B Business. Motion by Bullerman seconded by Wolf to accept agreement with Elite Business Systems,
motion carried.
• Presented a 3-year agreement with Meulebroek, Taubert & Co, PLLP for auditing services. Motion by Kunkel, seconded by Madison to accept agreement, motion carried.
•Presented membership renewals for MSBA (Minnesota School Board Association). Motion by Kruger, seconded by Madison to approve renewal, motion carried,
• Presented membership renewal for MREA (Minnesota Rural Education Association).
Motion by Wolf, seconded by Madison to approve renewal, motion carried.
Motion by Bullerman, seconded by Sieve to adjourn the June meeting of the Adrian Board of Education at 7:02 P.M., motion carried.
