Lismore News 8-1-18

This week marked the fifth anniversary of the death of Earl Erdman.  The family attended Saturday evening Mass at St. Anthony followed by supper at the Countryside Inn.  Sharing memories of their husband, father, and grandfather were his wife, Joyce; Pam and Mark Luettel of Adrian and their grandchildren, Ainsley, Oliver, and Leo Luettel of Faribault; Jennifer Luettel of Mankato; Bruce and Lindsay Meyeraan and Ian, Aiden, and Ava of Luverne; Peggy and Mark Meyer of Rushmore; Gail Erdman of Primghar, IA; and  Mike Erdman of Lismore and Heather Kilheffer of Round Lake. Father Rick Colletti also joined them.  Blessed be the memory of Earl Erdman.

Nina Weidert, daughter of Jim and Kris will be the guest of honor at a bridal shower on Saturday, August 4th beginning at 9:00 a.m.  Nina is the bride-to-be of Stuart Rogers, son of Todd and Jackie Rogers of Reading. Everyone is invited.

If you attended the Rock County Fair in Luverne over the weekend, you may have heard Gloria (Wieneke) Carlberg performing by the 4-H building.  Bruce Dysthe was scheduled to perform but due to health reasons he needed to cancel at the last minute.  Gloria to the rescue!  Everyone enjoyed Gloria’s renditions of Patsy Cline and Loretta Lynn tunes and her interactions with the audience.  The Fair Board was so thankful to have Gloria’s musical talents on such short notice.

The Lismore Fire & Rescue will have their annual fundraiser of all-you-can-eat BBQ Pork or Turkey supper beginning at 5:00 on Saturday, August 4th. Firemen are selling tickets, which also will entitle you for chance to win an assortment of prizes.

The Catholic Daughters of the Americas held their national convention during the week of July 17-21st at the Denny Sanford Convention Center in Sioux Falls, SD.  Mary Metz, Deb Lutmer, Lisa Diekmann, Brenda Loosbrock, and Stephani Diekmann represented Ct. St. Bernard #886 and were among the approximately 1200 women to attend the business meetings, Masses, and workshops.

Austin and Nichole Quebedeaux of  Des Moines, IA were weekend guests in the home of her parents, Bruce and Brenda Loosbrock.
