LuAnn Matthiesen is bringing her pink tractor to Rims and Ribs this Friday night and it will be at the campground on Saturday. Be sure to stop by and look at the only pink tractor in the area. If you have cancer or are a cancer survivor, please be sure to sign the tractor. The pink tractor is part of LuAnn and Dan’s effort to honor LuAnn’s mother and all of those who have battled this dreadful disease.
Christmas in July is this weekend. Please volunteer to help if you can. There is a lot going on and it takes many people to put it on. Thank you!
Usually when you hear “we are running out of desserts,” it might be said with dismay, but for the salad luncheon put on by St. Adrian CDA last Wednesday, it was a sign of a successful event. Co-chairs Cindy Bullerman and Rita Domagala were delighted with the huge crowd who came out to eat a great variety of wonderful salads and mind blowing desserts. People turned up by the vanful! Kay Cox brought a tableful of ladies with her from the Cottages. Many thanks to all the people who helped serve such a great lunch!
Our deepest sympathies to the family of “Ed” Ervin Archer who passed away on July 28. His services will be held in August. Ed will be missed. Blessed be the memory of Ed Archer.
Marshall, age 5 and Merritt, age 1, sons of Mitchell and Kayla Cox celebrated their birthday at their home on July
10. Although it was a hot day, three sets of grandparents and three great-grandmothers were enough to make the day very special. The blue birthday and ice cream hit the spot! Happy birthday Marshall and Merritt!
Country Cottage resident Carol Henning celebrated her 90th birthday on Friday, July 13. She received many cards and beautiful flowers. She celebrated by grilling with her family and friends. Everyone of Carol’s children and grandchildren were in Adrian to make the day special.
A bit of Adrian history-in 1972, Norb Henning purchased Jake Forette’s business and Henning Construction was born. Since that time many of the Henning sons and grandsons have been involved with the business, with the third generation of Hennings now at the helm. Thank you to the Henning Construction crew for all you do for Adrian. Be sure to check out the construction inflatables in front of Henning Construction during Rims and Ribs!
Rod Scheidt has been donating blood since 1960. Due to medical issues, Rod has to resign from donating. Thank you Rod for your many years of dedication!
Thought for the week: It’s been said that the secret to a successful life is to surrender your will to God. Success may not be money or fame-but something far more valuable-grace, joy, purpose and a fulfilled and meaningful life.
Have a great week!
