A big welcome to Rev. Daren Flinck. He will be serving as pastor for the United Methodist Church here in Adrian. It’s great to not lose a church.
Peg and John Faber’s daughter Jennifer and her two daughters came to the Cottages last Saturday and helped residents fill out their menus and serve lunch. Thank you to them for their dedication. The Cottages now have grill choices to add to the menu.

Judy Honermann reported last week that the cicadas are singing in the trees. They were also heard in Ellsworth and near the Trimont area. Let’s hope the cicadas are screwed up because of the weather.
Our sympathies are extended to the family of Colleen Thomas, who passed away last Saturday. Colleen was the sister of former Adrianite, Delbert (Carole) Honermann. Blessed be the memory of Colleen Thomas.
Make sure to read Roger Campbell’s article in this weeks Nobles County Review. Definitely food for thought!
Kay Cox found her pet rock while setting up her room at the Cottage. She was given the rock by Mel Kinsey years ago. It is a great way to remember Mel and it makes a great paper weight!
The Cottages are proudly displaying their new “wooden” flag out front of the facility. In the future the Adrian Country Cottages will get a permanent flag, complete with lights and landscaping. Thank you to nurse Judy for making the flag!
On Saturday, July 7th, Kay Cox along with her sister, Laura Bosch and brother-in-law, LeRoy Rust, attended the wedding, reception and dance of Emma Bosch and Tyler Hughes in Sioux Falls, SD. Emma is the great-granddaughter of Laura and the great-niece of Kay and LeRoy. The wedding was celebrated at Community Reformed Church and the reception was downtown at the Icon Lounge. It was a special day for family and friends! The couple will live in Cedar Rapids, IA, where Tyler will be attending medical school.
Stay cool this week! Next week is supposed to be cooler.
Thought for the Week: Fear seems to be an epidemic in our society. The list of fears people experience can be endless. Satan never runs out of new fears to place in our lives – at least until we make up our minds not to live in fear. Don’t allow feelings of any kind to dominate you. Fear may present itself as a feeling, but if we refuse to bow down to it, that is all it is…a feeling. Remember God says “fear not.”
