The 3rd annual Dawg Days of Summer Veterans Summit is coming up fast, Saturday July 21st! Last summer we held an appreciation event for local law enforcement along with our normal staff devoted to veteran’s issues. This year we will continue to highlight hometown heroes and hold an appreciation to the Adrian Ambulance Service.
Many of us will never need the services that the all-volunteer Ambulance Crew brings to our community. But for those of us that do need them, their work here in Adrian, can be a life or death situation. Imagine living six miles north or south of town and having to wait for an ambulance from either Luverne or Worthington to get to you. If you have been seriously injured or have suffered a heart attack or stroke the extra time could very well be the difference between returning to a normal life or losing your life.
We want to invite all of our ambulance personnel to come in and be recognized for your service to our community. Emergencies aside, the ambulance will be on hand for those of you that wish to see it. And to the community, please come down and just say a quick thanks to these citizens that spend many hours of their personal time to wait to help us in our time of need.
As for the rest of the Dawg Days function, we will once again, have individuals and organizations set up inside the post with information on many veteran’s issues. There will be a number of new people there to meet, and most, if not all of your veterans related questions should be able to be addressed.
New this year is the Back the Badge Bike Run. Local law enforcement has organized an event that will start in Worthington and end up at the Dawg Days of Summer. They should be rolling in around 3:30.
More details will be coming over the next few weeks, so stay tuned. The Dawg Days of Summer Veterans Summit III will certainly add to the already busy celebration weekend and we hope to see you there!
