The community offers sympathy to the family of Germaine Roemeling. Germaine died April 2nd at the age of 74.  Germaine and her husband Jim lived in Lismore most of their lives and later lived in Worthington and Adrian.  She enjoyed playing pinochle, crafts, reading, and spending time with her pets, Buddy and Gizmo.  Survivors include her children: Tammy (Ken) Vortherms, Linda (Rick) Lutmer, Jeff (Melanie) Roemeling, Diana (Mark) Herrig and Alan Roemeling along with 12 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.  Blessed be her memory.

Do you remember Denise Kerkvliet, formerly of Lismore, who was a teacher for the 1978-79 and 1979-80 school years at St. Anthony-St. Kilian Catholic School? Denise (Kerkvliet) Wasko of Rolfe, IA has recently written a children’s book titled “Nana D’s Alpacas”.  Nana D brings the farm life into the story, including information about her own alpacas, including pictures of her herd.  The story centers around  Ms. Emily and her preschoolers (of different abilities) taking an adventurous trip to learn more about alpacas. Karon Nagel returned last week from an extended stay in Texas. She spent most of her time with her daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and James Bryom, in South Austin.  She was on “Grandma Duty”, caring for her grandchildren, Mila (age 3) and Quintus (age 7).  While she was there, South Austin received snowfall for the first time!!  Karon visited friends in Mission, TX.  They returned to Minnesota with Karon and traveled on to their home in Preston.
