Dragons make every second count in win over RRC

With time running out in the game, and the Adrian Dragons girls down by two to tie a tough Red Rock Central Falcon team, they knew all it took was poise and passion and one key basket to make it to overtime. With the clock at five seconds remaining, seniors Hannah Bullerman and Paige Bullerman made a play that the team would remember for the rest of the season. Hannah with her skilled ball handling made a stellar pass to Paige, who was posting up hard on the right side of the court.  Paige made the basket to send the bench, along with a full Adrian crowd, into a huge uproar of excitement. The clock sounded after the basket, so with Paige’s basket and Dragon’s determination, the girls had just guaranteed overtime with a score of 48-48.

During overtime the Dragons were able to hold the Falcons to just six points while tallying 12 themselves.

For the Falcons, guard Haley Simonson put on a show putting up 19 points and capturing six steals and five rebounds.

During the matchup the Dragons stood their ground on the boards and were able to outrebound the Falcons 35 to 23. Seniors, Paige Bullerman and Lexi Slater, both put up a double-double for Saturday night’s game. Slater put up 15 points and grabbed 12 rebounds, while Bullerman put up 15 points and pulled down ten rebounds. Hannah Bullerman also counted for eight of the Dragon’s 35 rebounds, while dishing out five assists, capturing two steals and putting up eight points for the team.  With making every second in the second half and over time count, the Adrian Dragon girls were able to pull off a victory on the road vs. the Red Rock Central Falcons. The win brings the Dragons girl’s record to 5-4 in the conference and 6-10 overall.

The Dragons will be on the road again as they travel to Hills to face the HBC Patriots in a Thursday, January 25th battle with the C game starting at 5:00 p.m.
