The Adrian Senior Center held their Christmas party on December 21. If you remember that was the day of the snow storm. Twenty-three people braved the weather to gather for a hot meal of cubed beef. Instead of gifts, we were to bring paper products. One long table was piled high with napkins, toilet paper, paper towels – lots of paper products. Manager Marie was all smiles. It was enough to last for years! The tables were decorated with Christmas themes. There was lots of chatter and laughter as the guests enjoyed a great meal and great company. The meal was provided by the Lenore Wattry family.
I spent Christmas Eve with Mike and Cheryl Cox. We attended Mass at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Luverne. Their beautiful choir sang old familiar hymns before Mass began. Their director is Ron Rother, a former music director at Adrian High School. Mike and Cheryl served oyster stew and lots of Christmas “goodies”. It was a delightful evening.
Father Colletti has many duties during the Christmas season. With three parishes and separate Christmas services, he is a busy man, celebrating the birth of our Lord. Volunteers at each church do an outstanding job of decorating for the Christmas season. At St. Adrian, there are five different sized trees. Small children and older teens joined together to give the adults a hand. It was so wonderful to see everyone come together to honor our Savior!
St. Joseph Council of St. Adrian served lasagna, pizza, lettuce salad, and ice cream after 10:30 Mass on December 17. It was so good, and the service was remarkable! Good food and good fellowship was enjoyed by all who attended.
On Sunday, December 24, Eileen Hokeness and I were invited to Al and Cindy Cox’s home for a Christmas brunch.
LuAnn and Ron Reisdorfer entertained two of their three sons at their home on Christmas Day. LuAnn and Ron always do an awesome job of decorating their home on the inside and the out. Take time this season to drive around Adrian and see the beautiful decorations!
Left out of last weeks news- Cindy Heitkamp and Tracy Altman sang and Mary Scheidt played the organ at Nyla Bullerman’s funeral.
