Adrian 62 – Ellsworth 38
On Thursday, December 7, the Ellsworth Panther boys traveled north to Adrian opening up conference play. The Dragons outscored the Panthers 62-38.
Brandon Kramer led the Panthers with thirteen points and eight rebounds.
W-WG 79, Ellsworth 50
Westbrook-Walnut Grove came to Ellsworth on Friday, December 15. After falling behind by seventeen points in the first half, the Panthers rallied early in the second half to trail by less than ten. The Chargers battled back to outscore Ellsworth 35-23 to win the game.
Ellsworth shot 17 of 56 for 30% from the field. Zach Buntjer and Brandon Kramer scored twelve apiece. Buntjer had seven rebounds for the Panthers and Kramer pulled down five. Jansma added five rebounds to Ellsworth’s effort.
Sibley-Ochedeyan 81, Ellsworth 35
Ellsworth lost it’s second game in as many days to the S-O Generals on Saturday, December 16 in Sibley. The Panthers held leads in the early portions of the game, but were outscored by sizable margins by the Generals in both halves.
S-O had a 35-11 run in the first half to hold a 42-19 lead at half time. The Generals dominated the second half by going on a 35-11 run to take the game by 46 points.
For the Panthers, Brandon Kramer put in 16 points, while Zach Buntjer added 11 points and five rebounds in the Panthers effort.
Ellsworth 58, Edgerton 44
On Monday, December 18, the Panthers posted their first win of the season against the Edgerton Flying Dutchman.
The first half saw a battle between the teams, with the Panthers sporting a 32-28 lead before going into the locker rooms.
Ellsworth put the game away by outscoring the Dutchmen 26-16 in the second half. Brandon Kramer and Noah Kruse had 16 points apiece and Kramer added four steals to lead the Panthers. Zach Buntjer scored 12 points and had seven rebounds, while Grant Jansma chipped in three assists and Sam Kramer added three assists to give the Panthers the 58-44 win.
