Lady Dragons lose by two after second half come back

The Adrian Dragon girl’s basketball team hosted the Windom Eagles Monday night in a double-header battle along with the boy’s team. The Dragons were behind at the half by eight with three girls already in foul trouble. The Dragons knew they had a tough second half and a big job ahead of them if they wanted to get back into the game.  With little communication and having trouble transitioning back on defense, the Dragons gave up 28 points to Windom’s Maurissa Isaac alone. To add to her 28 points, Maurissa had 13 rebounds and made 11 of 18 free throws.

The Dragons were able to come back the second half and put up 33 points compared to Windom’s 23. Key players in foul trouble didn’t help the Dragons when the game came down to the wire in the last minute.  In a back and forth battle between the teams, Windom was able to pull away with the win after sealing the deal with free throws and then a missed opportunity for a shot by the Dragons. Sophomore, Moriah Bullerman, didn’t give up on her team or herself throughout the whole night as she played outstanding defense for the Dragons. Senior Lexi Slater, achieved a double-double putting up 19 points and pulling down 12 rebounds. Paige Bullerman also tallied for 14 points.

The Dragons get a short break following the Holiday Tournament and will be back in action against Southwest Minnesota Christian at home on January 4th.
