The Red Cross Bloodmobile will be in Lismore on Tuesday, November 7th, from 2-7 p.m. at the American Legion Hall.  There will be two red blood machines. Please mark your calendars!  A second collection will be taken on Wednesday, November 8th, at the Adrian High School.

Deb Lutmer attended graveside services for Beverly Raw at Calvary Cemetery in Browns Valley, MN last Monday morning.  Bev, a long-time family friend, was killed in a head-on car collision near Sisseton, SD.  May she rest in peace.

Many area residents have taken advantage of enjoying refreshments or dining out at the reopened Lismore Bar, now called Winter’s Bar & Grill. Everyone is happy that the lights are back on at this popular main street venue. Best wishes to Ron & Tamisha on their new business venture!

Colton Johnson, son of Tim & Megan of Ham Lake, MN was baptized at St. Anthony Catholic Church on Saturday, October 28th by his great-uncle, Father David Krogman of Brandon, SD. Colton’s Godparents are Justin & Theresa Stenlgein of Blaine, MN. Witnessing the blessed event were his grandparents Bruce & Ruth Lutmer of Brooklyn Park, MN and his grandmother Laura Johnson of Forest Lake, MN.  Other guests included Bud Bates of LeMars, IA;  Bill Bates of Magnolia, MN; Sam Johnson of St. Paul, MN; and Tom & Mary Krogman and Deb Lutmer, all of Lismore. Colton is the fourth generation of Krogman descendants to be baptized at St. Anthony Church;  his mother Megan, grandmother Ruth, and great-grandfather, the late Buck Krogman, all received the sacrament at St. Anthony’s.  A beautiful tradition!

Congratulations to Kyle & Natalie Bender of Brookings, SD on the birth of their first child, Elijah Thomas on October 25th.  Proud first time grandparents are Jeff & Denise Lynn and his great-grandparents are Bob & Jeannette Lynn, all of Lismore.

The First Presbyterian Church will hold their annual soup & dessert dinner on Sunday, November 19th,  at the Lismore

Legion Hall. The country store will open at 10:30 and serving begins at 11:00 a.m.  Throughout the day a silent auction will be taking place, a cookie walk, and the country store. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend this free will offering event.

Barry & Kerry Sauer were on hand to support their daughters, Alissa and Megan, when they recently participated in their first ever marathon in Mankato.  The Mankato Marathon is a USATF certified course, making it a Boston Marathon qualifier.  Megan is excited that she has qualified for the 2019 Boston Marathon; the deadline for 2018 race has passed. The Sauers spent the next weekend in Benson, MN cheering for daughter Morgan as she competed for the Bethany College Vikings, running the 6k distance with a time of 25:31.  She finished in 19th place overall.  The Sauer girls, including oldest sister, Anna, were a part of the Adrian High School Cross Country program and continue to enjoy distance running.

The Lismore Legion will host the annual Nobles County Veterans Day supper on November 11th,  at the Lismore Legion Hall.  This event is open to the public with social time beginning at 5:30 p.m., dinner at 6:30 p.m. followed by a speaker and entertainment.

Lucille Smit of Hull, IA and Donna Shaffer of Sioux Falls, SD were Thursday visitors in the home of Joyce Erdman.  They shared many wonderful memories of when the three couples spent their winters in Alamo, TX. The ladies enjoyed noon lunch at Winter’s Bar & Grill.  It was a great day for Joyce; she enjoyed spending time with her friends.
