Readers-isn’t that a good paint job on the Nobles County Review building? Jerry Johnson owns the building. Thanks Jerry! You made Adrian’s Maine Street look great!
Lismore, and all of Nobles County, lost a great man with the passing of FlorianLoosbrock “Florie” as he was known, started “Loosbrock Digging and Excavation” in 1968. He and his wife, Mary Ann (Winter) Loosbrock are the parents of Roseanne, Pat, Kay, Nancy, Bruce, and Neal. They have 23 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Florie was a life-time member of the VFW, The American Legion and the Knights of Columbus. Blessed be the memory of a great and humble man!
Reporting on St. Adrian’s Fall Dinner and Bazaar is now just a good memory! The food was so good and of course the “real” potatoes were a big hit! Lots of work goes into a dinner and bazaar, and with everyone doing their part, assures that it is a big success. The service was excellent and the young people were great! Thanks Mary Scheidt and Lisa Kruger for stepping up and being co-chair persons for this years festivities. As I am writing this, I don’t know any names of winners!
Guests of Kay Cox for the dinner and bazaar were her sister, Laura Bosch and her nephew, Paul Bosch and his wife Diane. They enjoyed everything! They live in Brandon, SD, and will definitely come again.
The Florian Loosbrock family graciously changed the hours of Florian’s visitation on Sunday, so that people wanting to attend the visitation could also attend the fall dinner. What a kind and thoughtful gesture. I understand that many of the Loosbrock family also attended the St. Adrian Fall Dinner. Thank God for good friends!
The “2 buck” meal at the Adrian Senior Center last Thursday served twenty-nine guests. The providers were Al and Cindy Cox from Cox Realty and Land Service. Al had a previous engagement, but manager Marie Schwebach packed up a meal for Al and sent it along with Cindy!
Are we ready for a cold spell? Not this old senior citizen! I love spring and fall! Football signals the colder weather to come. I watched the Vikings play at noon. They did not do very well!
It was so good to have a few words with Jo Ann Klein Sunday noon at the Country Side Inn. Jo Ann lives in Conrad, IA, and was passing through on her way to Custer, SD (about a seven hour drive from Adrian). She is the wife of the late Bob Klein, who was the son of late Rose and Jim
Klein. Jo Ann promised to come back and visit longer!
It was also good to greet Raydell Lawrence on Sunday. Raydell is the daughter of the late Ray and Iva Lawrence,
who were former owners of a cafe in Adrian. If I remember correctly, the cafe stood right north of the Slade Hotel!! Now that spot is all green grass.
Another nice rain early Monday morning. Thank you God!
