Lismore News 9-13-17

Nate & Ashley Harberts suffered the loss of their garage and shop on Friday morning. The many wood projects that Nate has been crafting are gone, along with his equipment. The Lismore Fire Department responded quickly so the fire did not spread to the house. Thankfully, no one was injured. Our thoughts are with them.

Deb Lutmer was a Labor Day weekend guest in the home of her sister, Donna Dew in Edmond, OK.  They made preparations for Donna’s move and transfer to the US Navy Base in Millington, Tennessee.

Stephen & Bethany Loosbrock and their newborn son, Dominic, of Overland Park, KS were guests in the home of his parents, Bruce & Brenda Loosbrock.  They all visited with Flory Loosbrock at Sanford Hospital. Great Grandpa Flory, being the oldest Loosbrock, was introduced to the newest member of the Loosbrock family tree, Dominic. Four generations of Loosbrock men: Flory, Bruce, Stephen, and Dominic. Congratulations to all.

Galen Krogman and Ruth Hubbling were recently in Chisago City for the wedding of Galen’s niece, Justine Vath, daughter of Lance & Jean (Krogman) Vath.  On Sunday they headed to North Dakota and stopped at the Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center and Fort Mandan and then off to Theodore Roosevelt National Park. Enroute home they spent time at the Sturgis Mustang Rally and returned to Lismore last Saturday night.

It was a perfect fall day for the St. Anthony bazaar and auction on Sunday.  The turkey & dressing was delicious and the candied carrots were so good you could have eaten them as a dessert—although there were plenty of other tasty desserts, too!  There was something for everyone on the auction block—meat bundles, vegetables, wall decorations, homemade horseradish and frozen corn, beanbag boards, blankets, certificates for services, and oodles of other donated items. One of the items that brought big money was Fr. Colletti’s “Dinner at the Rectory”.  Denise Lynn was the lucky winner of the quilt, which was made and donated by Briana Loonan.  The auctioneers moved along quickly so no one should have gone home hungry or empty handed!! It was a great way to spend the afternoon.

Be sure to visit our neighbors in Adrian for the St. Adrian Fall festival on September 17th.  They are proud to say they serve REAL mashed potatoes with their dinner. You may also visit the Candy Shoppe, buy Big Ticket chances, or try the cake walk.  It’s a great way to spend time with your family and support our parish cluster activities.

Belated congratulations to Teresa & Erik Peterson of Revillo, SD on the birth of their son, Leo Isaac, who was born in July.  Leo is the grandson of Marcella Gengler of Luverne (formerly of Lismore) and the late Cyril Gengler.  The Peterson’s enjoyed the St. Anthony Church Dinner and everyone was happy to meet little Leo. What a handsome little man!

Earl & Nancy Wolf of St. Paul and their family were guests in the home of Flory & Mary Ann Loosbrock.  They came especially to see their father/grandfather at Sanford Hospital and attend the St. Anthony Parish dinner.
