True Christian love was so evident in the Adrian and Rushmore area last week when we lost 47 year old Richard Grussing.
Richard died on August 1st, at the Worthington Hospital. He was well loved and well respected by those who knew him. His sudden and unexpected death left his family and many friends in deep shock. Father Colletti offered St. Adrian Church and parlor for the funeral, since St. Adrian is much bigger than the United Methodist Church. Ben Suedkamp and his bride-to-be Ann Kruger moved their shower from the parlor to the Education Building to accommodate the funeral. Several of St. Adrian members worked alongside the Methodist members to serve the funeral meal. Working side by side at this time of such grief is true Christian love. God will be close to Kim, and daughters Baily, Brooke and Autumn and his parents Myron and Claribel and his siblings. God bless the memory of Richard Grussing, one of God’s chosen servants.
Miss Ann Kruger was the guest of honor at a bridal shower held at the St. Adrian Education Building on Saturday morning, August 5th, at 10:00 a.m. The bride has chosen the colors of celery green and ivory and they were used in decorating. The guests enjoyed several hot brunch dishes and a delicious salad with buns and cake. The bride received many great gifts. Ann is the bride-to-be of Ben Suedkamp, son of Sandy and Vern. They will be married in September and make their home in Adrian, where Ben will continue farming. Congratulations Ann and Ben!
Miss Jerika Wieneke was guest of honor at a bridal shower held Saturday, August 5th, at the American Legion building. Jerika is the bride-to-be of Matt Van Horsen. The tables were decorated in red and black. Tammy Van Horsen, the groom’s mother made the many red and black pom-poms that will be also used in the wedding. The guests dined on hot dishes, fruit and pastries. The bride received many useful and nice gifts. A big to-do was made over the five day old baby of Chantel Kruse! Jerika and Matt will be married in September in Worthington and will make their home in Adrian. Congratulations Jerika and Matt!
Morgan Zollmer was the guest of honor at a bridal shower, Saturday morning, August 5th, at the Tony and Darla Parsley home on Maine Street in Adrian. The bride’s colors of burgundy and grey were used in decorating. The bride received many lovely and useful gifts. Delicious food was served to the many guests. Morgan is the bride-to-be of Danny Parsley. The couple will make their home in Mankato.
It was nice of the Adrian Town and Country Association to send letters of thanks to those who contributed to the annual Ribs and Rims event. The ATC gave checks to the fire departments of Ellsworth, Adrian, Rushmore, Lismore and to the Adrian Ambulance Service. About 1100 people were served the delicious ribs! They hope to see everyone back next year!
I wish to thank the following people for their kindness to me, for giving me rides this past week. Thanks to Paula Goedken, Donna Lewis, Lorraine Jones, Vida Konz, Audrey Brake, Carol Shorter, Dan Dingman and Father Colletti! Thank you is two short words, but they come from my heart!
Keep praying for rain!
Remember to look up the Nobles County Review at the Nobles County Fair, they will have a booth in the business building.
