The First Presbyterian Church will have an evening burger feed with music by the Cornerstone Quartet at the Lismore Park on Saturday, July 29th. Everyone is invited to attend. A free will offering will be taken.
Bruce & Brenda Loosbrock recently returned from Helena, MT where they witnessed the marriage of their daughter, Nichole to Austin Quebedeaux on July 14th. Their daughter, Amber Ezeani and her children, Dubai and Amara, returned home to Lismore to spend time with ‘grandpa & grandma’ before returning to their home in Boston, MA. Cel was not able to join them for the extended visit as his work beckoned. Their daughter Mary Jean DiGiovanni and Gianna of Kansas City, KS and Shelley Loosbrock joined the group for a couple weeks of “family time”. Shelly recently returned from six weeks of summer study abroad in Spain. She will soon return to Benedictine College where she will be a senior this fall.
Cyan (Knips) Loonan of the Boston, MA area and her mother, Janet (Knips) McDermott of Belize, Mexico spent a few days in Minnesota. They came especially to visit and wish Bob & Dorothy (Knips) Munns a belated 70th wedding anniversary.
Penny Holmes of Vista, CA was a guest in the home of her sister, Pam Kramer. She came especially to gather with her classmates from 1962.
Erin Hahn will be honored at an open house bridal shower on Saturday, August 5th at 9:30 a.m. at the Lismore Legion Hall. Erin is the daughter of Dan & Stephani Diekmann and is the bride-to-be of Ethan Weisz. The couple is registered at Target and Bed, Bath & Beyond. Everyone is invited to attend and asked to share a recipe with the bride.
Congratulations to Tim & Megan Johnson of Woodbury on the birth of their son, Colton Wyatt, who was born on July 1st. Proud first time grandparents are Bruce & Ruth (Krogman) Lutmer of Brooklyn Park. Colton is the great-grandson of the late Melvin & Darleen Lutmer.
The Rock County Fair will open on Wednesday, July 26th with activities scheduled through Saturday, July 29th. There will be something for the whole family.
Doris Diekmann and her daughter Marcie Cowan of Iona and her granddaughter Emily (Cowan) Dalen and Eli & Isaiah of Cyrus spent several days visiting in the home of Layne & Luann (Diekmann) Nelson in Stanley, ND. Ken & Sharon (Diekmann) Rupp of Granite Falls spent the previous weekend at the Nelson home to celebrate Lindy Nelson’s graduation.
Ryan & Lindsey Rydlund of Plymouth welcomed a daughter on June 26th. She has been named Eleanor Terese. Eleanor’s grandparents are Gary Lutmer & Roxy Scholl of St. James. The late Melvin & Darleen Lutmer are Eleanor’s great grandparents. Congratulations to the Rydlund family!
The annual Hendel reunion was held recently at Lake Shetek. Ruth (Hendel) Lorang’s family was well represented with Tom & Molly, Kate and Keegan Lorang of Morton; Kevin & Yig and John Lorang of Minneapolis; Susan & Todd, Isaac and Grace Roerig of Sioux City, IA; Lynn,Caleb and Asha Dearey of Durango, CO; Jean & Ivan, Owen, Lucy, Phoebe, Hazel, and Milo Vargas of Dell Rapids, SD. all attending. Joan Hendel Wolf of Clara City had the honor of being the oldest at age 86 while Milo Vargas was the youngest at 5 days.
Plans are underway for Old Home Day, which will be held on Saturday, August 12th. The Lismore Booster Club has a fun packed day of family games, train rides, treasures in the sand, bingo, food & drink, beanbag tourney, and outdoor movie.
