Jerry & Mary Kellen attended the baptism of their great-granddaughter Claire Ella on Sunday, June 9th at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Savage.  The little miss is the daughter of Nick & Kayla Weber of Burnsville and the granddaughter of Mike & Rhonda Kellen of Jordan.

Steve & Laurie Wieneke and Katie attended the wedding of their nephew, Anthony Wieneke to Madeline O’Brien on Saturday, July 15th at St. John’s Abbey in Collegeville. Anthony is the son of Paul & Joan Wieneke of New Ulm and the grandson of Elmer & Judy Wieneke of Lismore.

Hunter DeJong, son of Heath & Wendy DeJong and grandson of Gary & Jackie Rodrigue of Lismore, brought home the gold medal in the 187# free style competition and captured the silver medal in Greco-Roman at the Cadet Pan-American Championships in Buenos Aires, ARGENTINA this past week.  Joining Hunter in Argentina were his grandpas Gary Rodrigue and Harold DeJong as well as his parents. Hunter will be a senior and wrestles for Sibley-Ocheyedan High School.  He was a double All-American in Fargo last year and finished fourth at 195# at the Iowa State tournament in March. Congratulations, Hunter!

The next movie night sponsored by the Lismore Booster Club is scheduled for Friday, July 21st.  Bring your own snacks, chair and/or blanket to enjoy a family friendly movie starting at dusk.

Bob & Cate Koehne and Lucas, Maddy & Emery of Lismore and Sue Boots and Carson, Walker and Devon of Winona recently spent time in Crested Butte, CO visiting with Kieth & Joy Henning and Travis & Juniper.  They also visited in Denver, CO at the home of Justin & Kharman Henning. Kieth is a brother-in-law to Cate and Sue.

Ashley Balster will be honored at an open house bridal shower on Sunday, July 23rd from 11-2:00 p.m. at the Good Counsel kitchenette.  Ashley is the daughter of Daryl & Cindy of Wilmont and is the bride-to-be of Nate Harberts, son of Mike & Lois of Reading.  The couple is registered at Target and Bed, Bath & Beyond.  Everyone is invited to attend.

Dave & Deb Lutmer enjoyed a road trip “out west” to attend the wedding of Nichole Loosbrock (Bruce & Brenda) and Austin Quebedeaux (Anthony & Theresa) at the Cathedral of St. Helena in Helena, MT on Friday, July 14th.  The Lutmers took a spin through Yellowstone National Park on the way home.

The First Presbyterian Church will have an evening burger feed with music by the Cornerstone Quartet at the Lismore Park on Saturday, July 29th. Everyone is invited to attend.  A free will offering will be taken.

Little Miss Molly Einck has returned home from Ann Arbor, MI following her second heart surgery at CS Motts Children’s Hospital.  Her surgery was a success and her parents, Mike & Melissa and big sister Mari are thankful that another milestone has been reached. Molly continues to amaze everyone!

Milo Marvin joined the Ivan & Jean (Lorang) Vargas family in Dell Rapids, SD on July 10th. Grandma Ruth Lorang has a big smile on her face! Milo’s mother commented that her dad, the late Marv Lorang, would have said, “We finally got our Full House….two kings and three queens!”. Milo’s siblings are Owen, Lucy, Phoebe, and Hazel. Jean also shared some interesting things about her son’s birthday. July 10, 2017 is also a palindrome (reads the same forward and backward 7-10-17).  Milo’s birthday is 7-10 and his sister Hazel’s is 10-7.  Fun facts from a fun family. Congratulations to the Vargases and the Lorangs on their newest family member!

Joyce Erdman spent Sunday in Yale, SD visiting at the home of her daughter Nancy Decker and her grandson Jeremy Groenwold and his three daughters Jaycee, Ithica, and Haven and her grandson Josh Groenwold.  Joyce always enjoys time spent with her family.

Kelsey Altman and Andrew Lonneman were united in marriage at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church on Saturday, July 15th.  Parents of the newlyweds are Cliff & Tammi Altman of Lismore and Kevin & Nancy Lonneman of Adrian.  The Lonneman’s will make their home in Arkansas. Congratulations, Kelsey & Andrew!
