Adrian News 7-12-17

“Dawg Days” in Adrian on July 8th was certainly a huge success!    I counted 8 motorcycles that came flying into Adrian and parked out front of our beautiful American Legion building.  There were tables set up that held lots of information for Veterans and people willing to explain it to everyone.  The law enforcement officers of our area were honored and given a standing ovation by the people attending as they were introduced.  Sheriff Kent Wilkening spoke highly of the men and women who watch over us day and night.  One highly trained dog and his trainer gave several demonstrations on catching the “criminal” in the parking lots of the Nobles County Review and Pioneer Seed.  With one word commands, the dog caught and then released the “criminal”.  What an amazing exhibition.  Food was provided by the Sons of the American Legion and the Adrian Boy Scouts.  It was a three hour program that all should have attended.

Thanks to everyone for their protective services!

Little Marshall Cox celebrated his 4th birthday at his rural home on the evening of July 2nd.  He had 9 grandparents who enjoyed a grilled supper with a bonfire, fireworks and 2 cakes!!

So good to hear that the Red Cross Bloodmobile made its quota and then some!!  It was a hot day,  but folks came and donated their precious blood anyway.  Co-chairpersons were Al and Cindy Cox and they had great help!  Thanks to all for donating their blood!

I will report on the Catholic Daughter salad/dessert luncheon next week.

Nice to visit with a former Lismore resident, Marty Krogman, who still loves to read the Lismore and Adrian news every week!

The Al and Lib Nytes family held their family reunion in Adrian starting with 10:30 Mass in Adrian, and then going to the lake in Worthington.  Mary (Nytes) Wagner told me that there were 50 family members who gathered together to celebrate the family.  Good to see so many in church last Sunday.

Don’t forget the grand reopening of the Adrian Library on Friday, July 14, beginning at 11:00 a.m.  Then it’s off to Ribs and Rims to enjoy a great meal.  Don’t forget Christmas is July starting on Saturday.   Lots of time and organization goes into these events.  Our Town and Country organization does a great job.

Welcome to the world little Merritt Richard Cox!  Merritt is the son of Mitchell and Kayla Cox of rural Adrian.  He has two older brothers, Marshall and Mason, who love their new little brother.

Please pray for another good rain!  God never sleeps, so you can ask Him anytime!
