What a great story and beautiful pictures of Karon Nagel, Pam Kramer, and Doris Diekmann in the recent supplement to the Nobles County Review.  These gals share a friendship that has been pieced together by a common thread….quilting.  They have all been sewing for many, many years and quilting for about as long.  Each gal enjoys her own style of quilting and has plenty of fabric on hand!!  They get together for road trips to South Dakota and area fabric shops in Minnesota, looking for bargains and treasures.  Their quilts are given to family, friends, and many are given as gifts or donated for fundraisers.  Right now Pam has a flag quilt that is being raffled off by the Lismore Legion. Doris has made 51 quilts and 34 crib quilts/runners as well as many given to the missions. Karon has done many T-shirt quilts for graduation keepsakes. What talent these friends possess—and a friendship that is “sew” special !

“When you donate blood, you help save lives. It’s one of the greatest gifts that you can give. Vickie Leinen and her good friend, Ardella Malwitz of Luverne and her daughter, McKenna of Canton, SD made their annual trek to Country Fest in Cadott, WI (near Chippewa Falls). They enjoyed 60-70 degree temps.  The gals encountered several other “locals” during the weekend of country music.  This was the 31st anniversary of the music festival and Vickie has attended every one of them!
