Things will kick off on Friday, July 14th with Ribs and Rims and many events are scheduled throughout the day on Saturday, July 15th.
Friday night’s Ribs and Rims event begins at 5:30 p.m. in the tent directly behind city hall as the volunteers begin to serve ribs and continue to serve until all the ribs are gone. If you would like to be a sponsor for the Ribs and Rims there is still time just contact Connie Lonneman at 507-360-4857 The servers are volunteers from the Adrian Ambulance and the Adrian, Ellsworth, Lismore and Rushmore Fire Departments. It is a goodwill offering with all proceeds going to those five organizations. The car show will be held while the ribs are being served. Anything with wheels is welcome to participate. Shine and polish it up and bring it in for the show. There will be kids face painting from 5:30-7:30 p.m. New this year to Ribs and Rims is the kids tractor pull sponsored by Nobles Cooperative Electric. Registration is at 5:30 p.m. and pulling will begin at 6:00 p.m. Following the Rib feed the Cattlmen’s Association will have a burger stand behind The Sports Page beginning at 8:30 p.m. Live music by the Quick 56 Band begins at 8:30 p.m. until 12:00 a.m. There will be a beer garden on the grounds, no coolers are allowed.
Saturday is full of fun with a Kids Ninja Warrior Obstacle at the Lower Park from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. A kids kickball tournament will be held at the ball fields for kids ages 9-13 from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. A craft fair and kids inflatables will be held at the Lower Park from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. The Zoo Man Express will be at the Lower Park from 11:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. The Adrian Town and Country will be serving their delicious food once again at the Fire Hall from 11:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. A four person, best ball, golf tournament will be held at the Adrian Country Club at 11:00 a.m. If you are over 21 head down to the Den from 3:00-7:00 p.m. for the Sioux Fall’s Fernson Brewery tasting. The annual parade and tractor parade will begin at 7:00 p.m. down Maine Ave. with Grand Marshals Meredith and Eric Vaselaar, duck races will be held by the Fire Hall immediately following the parade. Cap things off with some more live music from the Quick 56 Band from 8:30 p.m. until 12:00 a.m.
