Guests in the Jerry & Mary Kellen home last week to celebrate Jamie Lebrun’s birthday were: Bob & Jamie LeBrun, Veryl & Avis Stoffel and Vickie Kohorst.  They all enjoyed an evening of games and lots of laughter.

The Lismore American Legion Auxiliary Unit #636 was sited by the state department for their membership efforts and for achieving 100% of their membership goals.

Pam Luettel of Adrian celebrated her 60th Birthday in Minnetonka, MN at the home of her son, Keith & Emily Luettel and Blake on Saturday and Sunday.  Other guests were her husband Mark; daughter Jennifer Luettel of Mankato; son Corey & Tara Luettel, Ainsley and Oliver of Medford; daughter Lindsay & Bruce Meyeraan, Ian, Aiden, and Ava of Luverne;  and her mom Joyce Erdman of Lismore. They enjoyed the Como Zoo on Saturday, grilling supper, and Grandma Pam opening her gifts.  Dairy Queen Birthday cake and singing “Happy Birthday” made Pam’s day!  They all had a great time.

This is the week to dig out all the clutter in your garage, basement or attic! The Spring Clean Up for the City of Lismore has been set for next Monday, May 8th. Many items will be picked up at no charge.  A complete list can be found at the City Hall or at the city’s website www.lismore.govoffice2.com.  Residents are encouraged to take advantage of spring clean up to remove unwanted and unused items from their property.

Bruce & Ruth Lutmer of Brooklyn Park are spending the week at their acreage near Leota.  Ruth spent time with her sister, Mary (Mrs. Ed) Hoffman in Sioux City, IA.

Congratulations to Lismore participants Sabdi Bravo and Alexia Kemper on their accomplishments at the Minnesota State High School Speech Meet.  Sabdi earned a sixth place medal in Informative speaking while Alexia was tenth in Extemporaneous Reading. Sabdi is the daughter of Alejandro & Mayra and

Alexia is the daughter of Chris & Mindy.

The Lismore community was saddened to hear of the  passing of Cyril “Sonny” Henning.  Sonny and his wife Pat lived and farmed near Lismore for many years before moving into Adrian.  Sonny was very active in his church and community and will be missed by his many friends and family.  Rest in peace, Sonny.

May is poppy month. The poppy is worn to remember those men and women who have served our country and the sacrifice they made for our freedom. Patty (Johnson) Buysee, Poppy Chairman for the Lismore American Legion Auxiliary, will be accepting donations at the annual smelt fry on May 6th.

Joyce Erdman and her brothers, Gary & Connie Hoffer of Adrian and Glen & Mick Hoffer of Brandon, SD met at the Pizza Ranch in Luverne on Thursday.  They enjoyed noon dinner and lots of visiting.

Joyce Erdman and her daughter, Pam Luettel, met new baby Roree Kathryn, daughter of Randy and Marissa Erdman of Pipestone Monday evening.  She was born at the Pipestone Hospital early Monday morning.  Grandparents are Rod and Ruth Erdman of Pipestone and Jerry and Kathy Wolfgram of Chaplain, MN.  Great-grandparents are Joyce and the late Earl Erdman of Lismore, and Earl and Yvonne Leonard of Robbinsdale, MN.   Roree has a big brother, Rolland.
