Junior High results
The Adrian Speech Team hosted 140 students from 13 schools in the Dragon Invitational Junior High tournament Monday, March 6. Several Adrian students earned awards at the meet.
Maritza Beltran was first in Serious Poetry. Karis Barr was fourth in the same category. Winning honorable mention in Serious Poetry was Cheyenna John. Joshua Horn won honorable mention in Serious Prose and Aaron Rojas and Justin Umansor-Mejia won honorable mention in Humorous.
Varsity Meet
The Adrian Speech team had six medalists at the Montevideo Thunderhawk Invitational Saturday, March 11.
Maritza Beltran earned top honors with a first place in Serious Poetry. Paige Bullerman was second in Original Oratory and Hannah Kruse placed fourth in the same category. Zack Loosbrock earned second place in Informative Speaking while Sabdi Bravo was fourth in that category. Alexia Kemper was fourth in Extemporaneous Reading. The Adrian team finished fifth in team points.
The last regular season meet for the team is Saturday, March 18 at Southwest Minnesota State University.
