Adrian News 3-1-17

The articles by the Nobles County Review on 2-22-17 and the Daily Globe writer Karl Evers Hillstrom on 2-14-17 were great pieces of literature about the life and death of Tim Christensen.  Tim was a great advocator, principal, family man, co-worker and friend to everyone.  Tim was bundle of energy, often arriving at school before many of his co-workers were still in bed.  Tim had the uncanny ability to see the best in every student.  Not all students  are “book” students or national honor society candidates, but Mr. “C” could find a spark in each student whether working, metal projects, etc.  By a smile, a pat on the back, a “atta” boy or “atta girl”, Tim brought out the students desire to be kinder, more respectful or helpful.  We will never know of the thousands of lives he touched in his short time on this earth.  His wife, Pam, mother Becky and three children will never be able to fill that empty chair.  As one of his close cousins stated “ I still think his death is a nightmare and I wish I could wake up.”

His family chose to have Tim’s funeral in their beautiful, comforting church Grace Lutheran in Luverne, MN.  Sleep well Mr. “C” and know that your spirit lives on in the people you touched.  Blessed be the memory of a great man.

Wednesday, March 1st is the beginning of Lent.  Let us all make a promise to ourselves and to God to become a better person and a kinder person to all we meet.

A group of young married couples of St. Adrian is offering a bible study for five Sundays during Lent.  The sessions will begin after the 10:30 a.m. mass beginning March 12, 2017.  They usually last an hour.   If interested call John or Peg Faber at 483-2456.  We admire these six couples for starting these sessions.  So throw a roast in a crock-pot  and learn how to become “a shining light”!

It was fun to have Father Coletti, Mary his secretary, and Les and Sandy Henning enjoy a hot turkey dinner last Thursday at the Senior Center.  They were invited to come eat at the center.  Manager Marie Schwebach even gave Father Colletti a few valentine cookies for his dog “Blue” who was waiting at home!!  Readers, how about calling Marie at 483-2588 and sign up to a good hot meal.   You won’t be sorry.
