Lismore News-Feb 22

Congratulations to Mike & Melissa Einck and big sister, Mari on the birth of Molly Jo, who was born on February 13th at C.S.Mott’s Children’s Hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Molly tipped the scales at 7 pounds, 3 ounces and is 19.7 inches long.   Proud grandparents are Jim & Kris Weidert of Lismore and Ron & Janelle Einck of Iona.  Great Grandparents are Jerry & Mary Weidert of rural Lismore and  Bess Lingen of Tyler.  Little Molly was born with a congenital heart defect called Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS). In babies with HLHS, the left side of the heart is underdeveloped and cannot pump enough blood to meet the body’s needs.  Molly’s first of several surgeries was on Friday.  Follow her journey online at https://www.caringbridge.org/visit/mollyeinck.

Dominic Wieneke of Sioux Falls (son of Diana and the late Daryl Wieneke,  formerly of Lismore) has released his first DVD/Blu-ray “Death Rot” on February 14.  Dominic has a talent for directing/producing horror films and this will be the first of many more to come!  Congratulations, Dominic!

Nick Lorang, son of Mark & Janine, recently received the Campus Champion award at the Van D. & Barbara B. Fishback Honors College Convocation celebration. Convocation is an annual SDSU celebration of student and faculty achievements in the Honors College.  It features a reception, awards ceremony, and this year’s keynote address was given by Honors alumnus Chris Daugaard of Ernst Capital Group in Sioux Falls.  The award was given to Nick in recognition of his strong involvement as a student leader at SDSU in a variety of academic and extracurricular activities, as well as being an advocate and champion for the Honors College to the greater campus community. Award recipients are nominated by students and/or faculty and selected by a faculty committee. Nick’s parents were unable to attend that evening, but his sister, Laura and her friend, Andrew Fodness were present to see the awards presentation. Nick will  be graduating from SDSU in May with Honors College Distinction, and will go on to graduate school to pursue master’s degrees in communication studies and student affairs administration.  We wish you continued success, Nick.
