Congratulations to former Lismore resident, Karla (Krogman) Gedell on her retirement! Karla’s last day of work was February 1, 2017. For the past nineteen years she has worked as a law librarian for the Minnesota Attorney General’s Office. She received a Certificate of Recognition and best wishes from her employer and is now enjoying the “good life”.
Ray & Shirley Wieneke recently returned from a 7-day cruise to the western Caribbean. They visited Cozumel, Belize, Roatan, and Costa Maya, Mexico. They also spent a couple of days on Cocoa Beach, FL before departing on their Carnival Magic cruise. They report that the “sun was great”.
The Lutmer brothers, sons, brothers-in-law, sons-in-law and a few friends returned Tuesday from their annual fishing trip near Starbuck. Fishermen included: Jeff Lutmer, Dave Lutmer, Cody Lutmer, Mike Buysse, and Tom Krogman, all of Lismore; Will Lutmer and Andy Heitkamp both of Sioux Falls, SD; Tyler Wagner, Marshall; Gary Lutmer, St. James; Bruce Lutmer, Brooklyn Park; Tim Johnson, Metro area; Randy Lutmer, Louisville, KY; Zach Lutmer, Columbus, OH; Rick Lutmer and Adam Lutmer and their friend Beau, Omaha, NE; and Tim Lutmer, Alexandria. Don Sykora of Ortonville and Doug Woolridge of Annandale and Frank Wieneke of Lismore also spent some time with the guys throughout their stay.
Nathan, Andy and Joe Rahe moved to the district round of the Adrian and Lismore Knights of Columbus Free Throw Contest in Luverne. The boys are the sons of Luke & Jen Rahe of Lismore.
McKenzie Wieneke had the opportunity to participate in the 2017 March for Life in Washington, DC in January. McKenzie was one of approximately 200 Benedictine College students to march for life and she said she could feel God’s grace sweep over the streets. She was so happy to be a part of something so peaceful and beautiful while standing up for a cause that she believes in so strongly.

Logan Baszler was the guest of honor at a “dinosaur” themed party to celebrate his 2nd birthday at the home of his parents, Jared & Ashley in Brookings. Attending were his big brother, Jack; grandparents, Alan & Ellen Henning; great-grandparents, Veryl & Avis Stoffel; uncle Joe & Ashley Henning and aunt Sarah & Lucas Darling and Kamryn & Carter of Brandon, SD.
