Matt Eickhoff joined the staff of the Adrian State Bank on December 1, 2016. Eickhoff is an Adrian native, son of Dave & Joyce (Kenning) Eickhoff, and the fourth generation of Eickhoff’s in the banking occupation. A graduate of Adrian High School, Eickhoff joined the Air Force and served for four years, then he attended college at Metro State University of Denver, with a degree in Finance.
“I always had a thought in the back of my mind to maybe return to Adrian someday,” says Eickhoff, “when I was home this summer, the idea came up, and in September I sat down with my Dad, president of Adrian State Bank, and Ray Konz, Executive Vice President, to discuss the possibility.” As Eickhoff puts it, “I thought, “why not give it a shot?” Matt Eickhoff had been working as an accountant at the Las Vegas Review Journal, and recently moved back to Adrian.
As for being back on home turf? “I really like it,” Eickhoff answers, “I forgot how a small community comes together and supports each other. I missed that without realizing I was missing it.” He does admit that he is readjusting to the cold temps. “It still takes me the same amount of time to get to work here as it did in Las Vegas. It took 15 to 20 minutes to drive to work there. Here? It takes about the same amount of time to warm the car up before I leave for the bank!”
Eickhoff has settled into his job as assistant vice-president at the bank. Feel free to stop in at the Adrian State Bank and meet Matt, or get reacquainted, and say, “hello!”
