The Adrian girls battled the visiting Patriots of Hills-Beaver Creek, but empty offensive possessions and free throws from their opponents sent the Dragons to a 71-51 defeat. The loss drops Adrian’s record to 2-2 in Red Rock Conference play and move their overall record to 3-4.
The Patriots claimed the first lead of the night and quickly extended their lead to 10-3 before a Miah Kunkel basket cut the lead to 10-5. Another 9-0 advantage pushed the visitors lead to 19-5, before a 10-0 Adrian rally brought the Dragons back to within four points at 19-15.
HBC was able to maintain their lead throughout the first period and held a 10 point lead at 34-24 until the Dragons Alexia Kemper dropped in a fifteen footer at the horn to bring her team to within eight points at 34-26 heading into the break.
