Library Update…

Funds raised so far: $59,862

Goal:  $80,000

Things are moving ahead on the library project, as the bid process for the project has now opened.  Within the next few weeks, we will be doing more at the Adrian Branch Library to prepare for the work.  Some books have already been moved, and more will be moved in order to begin setting up in the New Vision space – which will be the temporary home of the Adrian Branch Library during the renovation.

Yes, it seems to be taking a long time to get started on the renovation itself, but that is the nature of these kinds of projects.

People have asked about the fundraising, and is the project taking a long time because we have not yet reached our goal of $80,000?  The project is taking a long time to begin due to rules and regulations, protocol, getting each phase of renovation approved by all entities involved.  The county is paying for the renovation/repair/upgrading of the building.  Our fundraiser dollars are for the furnishings (shelves, tables, chairs, desks, etc.) and there is time to raise enough to cover the costs of those materials.

It is important to remember that all donations are tax deductible.  If you are looking for one last tax deduction before the end of the year, please consider a donation to the library.

Remember:  The Adrian Branch Library Holiday Open House is today – Wednesday, December 7; 12:00 noon – 5:00 p.m.  If you read this in time, please stop in for some cookies and hot cider!
